Well, there’s a lot to cover here in a little time. First of all, the 2008 Delsea Crusaders are on their way to the South Jersey Group II Championship game this upcoming Friday. They will face the West Deptford Eagles. This season was very shaky for the young team. Many games were nail-biters! But, the squad has made it to the final plateau. I wish them good luck in this last game of the season and for the four seniors, their last game of their high school career.
ARLPhoto has started a new MySpace page found at www.myspace.com/arlphoto. The primary reason for this was to have a way to interact with the players on the field. Many of the players love the action shots. After each event, I take a few moments to pick what I feel are my best shots of the game. I then resize them and add an ARLPhoto.net badge to the corner and post them to the pics section. This will serve as a small portfolio of what I consider to be my “best” photographs.
What makes a particular photo one of my “best”? Well, I’m biased, but I like to get shots of raw emotion. Now that I have two camera bodies on the sidelines, I’ve been trying to capture reaction shots from the sidelines. Such as the excitment of a touchdown, or if a call is made that doesn’t particularly please the players. Sometimes these shots can capture the whole attitude of the moment. I’ll see how it goes, I’m still working on my technique for quickly switching to one camera from the other without damaging either one!
Well, until next time. And for anyone that is going out to Friday night’s game, I’ll see you around 7:00pm.
